Mail order ketamine legality in question

The Biden Administration recently announced an end to the federal COVID-19 public health emergency declaration, creating serious challenges for the burgeoning online ketamine treatment industry.

The declaration made it easier for healthcare providers to prescribe medications via telehealth appointments rather than seeing patients in person. These looser regulations also made it possible for mental health startups to offer “virtual” psychedelic therapy, sending patients ketamine through the mail for at home use.

With the public health emergency declaration coming to an end, these healthcare providers may no longer be able to prescribe ketamine treatment without first seeing patients in person – a significant obstacle for businesses whose primary offering is online therapy.
