Montana’s psilocybin therapy bill defeated in 9-12 vote

In a 9-12 vote, lawmakers in Montana have voted against a bill to legalize psilocybin therapy. The proposed bill would have allowed adults aged 18 and older to access psilocybin therapy for treatment of PTSD, anxiety, depression, or substance use disorder.

Commenting on the bill’s defeat, Rep. Greg Oblander (R) said that he might support a similar bill in the future once more research has been done, but that he doesn’t feel there is enough information to advance legalization at this point in time.
